Click here to see the great deals from Amity Travel This year we are very proud to be able to provide a flying display by the awesome Lithuanian aerobatic pilot Jurgis Kairys, in his Russian Sukhoi. Jurgi invented several aerobatics maneuvers including the "Kairys Wheel", "Small Loop” and was the first to successfully perform the “Cobra” maneuver in a propeller driven aircraft and has the ability to hover his aircraft like a helicopter. More During the Second World War, Cunderdin, a West Australian wheatbelt town, was one of the prime training facilities for the RAAF. From here trainee pilots were introduced to the DH Tiger Moth, the Avro Anson and other front-line machines, before going on to the piston fighters of the day, like the P51 Mustang, P40 Warhawk, Hawker Hurricane and Supermarine Spitfire. Bomber aircrew went from the Anson to the Beaufighter, Beaufort, Lancaster, Wellington and a host of others. Click here for a more detailed history of Cunderdin flying operations.
